Despite a wet start the sun came out in time for Kate and Nick's Easter Party last Wednesday. Kate is my lovely god daughter and Nick her little brother. Rockets and Rainbows provided the creative fun and everyone worked hard to produce some fantastic felt toys. Kate, Abigail and the two Emilys demonstrated some very impressive sewing skills and their wise old owls - Hoot and his friends - were finished in no time. The boys - who are both just four years old - also did very well with a little help from the grown-ups and, choosing an Easter theme, made two lovely bunny rabbits.
After homemade pizzas for lunch and an energetic Easter Egg Hunt in the garden it was time to go home. Mind you, the creative bug was obviously well and truly caught because Kate and Emily W managed to squeeze in another quick session while Emily's mum had a cup of tea. Kate made a tiny owl to keep Hoot company and Emily used a red pom-pom I happened to have to hand to make a very cute crab with enormous eyes! As you can see we took the opportunity to photograph Hoot and baby Hoot in their natural habitat!
